Two Oil Mist Detection Systems; Two Different Applications

Recognising that early detection of Oil Mist helps to safeguard personnel and equipment before a fire occurs, QMI developed two different systems for two different applications. The Engine system was traditionally used to measure Oil Mist particles inside the crankcase of a diesel engine and the Atmospheric system used to measure Oil Mist in any confined space, such as manufacturing test areas, LNG Carriers & Gas production platforms.

An Oil Mist Detection System is made up of a Monitor and one or more Oil Mist Detectors or Sensors.

Oil Mist Detection Solutions

The QMI Engine Oil Mist Detection System was originally designed for the Marine sector to identify increased levels of Oil Mist in Engine crank spaces. MORE INFO

The QMI Atmospheric Oil Mist Detection System is used to identify Oil Mist in confined areas such as: engine rooms, pump rooms, bow thrusters, purifier rooms, hydraulic pack areas and test cells. MORE INFO

Installation

Our equipment can be easily installed by your in-house engineering team using our detailed Installation Manual. We are, however, able to recommend service engineers worldwide to assist with installation or servicing of your equipment. Please contact us for more information.

Retrofitting

Retrofitting a QMI Engine Oil Mist Detection System can often be achieved by inserting our pipework into the existing crank space penetrations after removing another system. Please contact us for more information.

Upgrades

Our equipment is completely backward compatible, so we can upgrade the internal components of older versions of our equipment by simply returning the Monitor to our factory, (cost is applicable). Please contact us for more information.
